The historic Bank of Montreal building was designed by British Columbia's famous architect, Francis M. Rattenbury, and constructed during 1898/99. This architectural gem is arguably Rossland's most prominent building, being situated on a central comer and having a foundation made from locally quarried granite beneath brick walls that reflect the strength and elegance of the structure. Designed in the Romanesque Revival style, it stands as a testament to timeless craftsmanship. The building has undergone extensive renovations and upgrades, while preserving its historical value and appeal. Built as a three-stories multi-use building, today it provides 15 leasable spaces, primarily as professional offices, contains a functional basement and four original bank vaults.
